Youth Policies and Rights Workshop

What?

Youth policy is a commitment and practice of a government to guarantee good living conditions and opportunities for the young population in its country.

When is a person considered "young"? The concept of youth is socially constructed rather than biologically determined; what it means can vary depending on time, socio-economic development of society, or even who you ask.

The answer to when a person is "young" and therefore when he is the target of a "youth policy" is truly subjective. In a global world, societies are changing rapidly and continuously. As with the social conditions of young people, so are the expectations of young people (and the entire population) regarding the role of government.
